The New Jersey Hearing Aid Project (NJHAP) is a program run by the Montclair State University Center for Audiology in partnership with the New Jersey Division of the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing (DDHH) and Sertoma/Hearing Charities of America. It provides refurbished hearing aids to individuals who might otherwise not be able to obtain them. We've been expanding our provider network over the past few years and need qualified, licensed dispensers from across the state to dispense the refurbished aids to these individuals.
New Jersey residents who are determined by the DDHH to qualify to receive these refurbished hearing aids will need to be fully evaluated and fit with appropriate devices. We. In return for the time and effort, providers are reimbursed $300.00 for each hearing aid fit. Participating dispensers will be required to provide us with the following documentation to qualify:
- Current CV including employment history, current employment, education
- A copy of their current NJ hearing aid license
- A copy of your NJ Business Registration certificate
- A copy of your current malpractice insurance
All dispensers participating in this program will also be required to have a minimum of two years of clinical experience as a licensed practitioner. The NJHAP is a remarkable opportunity for providers to give back to the community. I would greatly appreciate your assistance on spreading the word. Please feel free to email me or call me at (973) 655-3404 with any questions.
Best,
Elena
